Lights, camera, ACTION! Before now we’ve had the first two. Well, we cannot forget the action component! Besides, a CNC machine isn’t CNC unless a computer is moving it, aye? Add the motors and Mach3…

Conversion, RV, School Bus -

We like to party, that’s a fact. So when it came time for our annual ugly sweater Christmas party, it was inevitable that the bus would be incorporated. Seeing as we had owned the bus for about a month at this time, Joey was a “pro” at driving it & decided a neighborhood tour of Christmas lights on the bus was necessary. When the time came, thirty of our closest friends and family piled in the bus for the memorable event. Not just any bus, a full-length school bus; one that we could convert into an RV or more practically,...

Ok, so the HobbyCNC controller board and stepper motors have proven to work excellent on their own, sitting on my tech bench. What is the next step? Well, build a table for them, of course! I decided to start by designing some CAD models of some gantry carriages. Carriages are the devices that have the bearings installed, in which allow all the moving parts to slide freely up and down the axes. The first ones were going to look rough, but I assure you, the important dimensions were within .005″ of an inch. We are able to attain these tolerances...
